In remembrance of Roy Vandermeer

We are deeply saddened to learn that Roy Vandermeer OBE QC died aged 85 on 13 January 2017

Former member of FTB, their website reads: 'Roy was, on any view, one of the most distinguished and distinctive practitioners at the Planning Bar.

He was a brilliant advocate, notable not least for his skill in cross-examination which he exercised to devastating effect. His public service in the planning field included sitting as the Inspector on the Heathrow Terminal 5 Inquiry and as a deputy High Court judge. Roy was also a man of great personal kindness, not least to the many in Chambers who were fortunate to act as his juniors. He received the OBE for his charitable work.'' Y
